During one of my leadership development trainings they discussed behavioral interviewing. I personally had never heard of it till, then but I sure wish someone had told me about this technique. Now I tell all my friends and i thought I’d share it on my blog too
In short if you’re not familiar with what behavioral interviewing means, it is the way questions are worded so that you (if you’re good at interviewing) answer with the type of action you would take, In other words your behavior in a given situation. If you can articulate it well, then it gives the interviewer a better idea if you’re a good fit for the job.(more…)

I have interviewed ALOT of people. I’ve even had a person come in a bikini and guess what she got the job! Of course that was for a life guard position for an amusement park. This young lady understood the value of her time, before her interview she literally was enjoying her future work place. Working in HR for an amusement park taught a lot about people and as a clinical manager interviewing professionals most of what I learned then still applies.(more…)

Every day we have ups and downs. Most of the time we find ourselves focused on the downs and forget to say thank you for all we do have. I get, I get it – it’s hard to say thank you for a house you don’t really love or a car you hate to drive. But that’s just it, if you are not thankful for what you have you’ll never get any MORE than that. Yes, I said it, if you’re not thankful then you’ll stay right where you are. And where you are might not be that bad, I mean it’s better than so and so.… and that mindset too isn’t any good. Why compare yourself to anyone else? And looking at someone else’s life to feel better about yourself is NOT BEING thankful. There’s a difference in being humble and a jerk.
