Career Myth: Don’t take risks

My Post (16)

A common myth about planning your career and life: “Take action ONLY when you are sure of the outcome”

All the big winners, all those famous people took action when the DID NOT know the outcome.  Those that win big, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney and so many others, won big because they did not let anyone not even themselves limit them.

“The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.” –Chinese Proverb

There will always be naysayers, people that say that it can’t be done. Do not, I repeat, do not limit yourself based on what others have said, done, or think.  You are not them and they are not you.

This brings me to a friend of mind. She watched one of my videos on a similar topic.  That no matter what anyone tells you, do not not do it, whatever it is, just because someone else cannot fathom it possible.   So my friend, decided that day that she was going to go on this hike that others had told her that it could not be done without proper conditioning.  She did not do it for over a year, just because, others had told her she couldn’t.

Well guess what, she did it that very next day.  She had thought to herself that she could but allow others deter her.  Finally when she decided, no I CAN DO THIS, I KNOW I CAN.  She did it. Push all the naysayers aside and did it!

It was amazing to see what we can do when we don’t allow others from limiting us.

What will you do today to create more possibilities for yourself?  What small risks are you willing to try out to get your feet wet?
