Habit number seven “Be a professional learner.”  I definitely got that one down! Life long learner here.  Oliver explains that “the desire to continue learning is necessary for growth and success.”  He also makes it clear that he is not just talking about a college degree, while formal education is one way to learn, it is not the only way.

In the age of Google, we have so much within our fingertips, phones ,and any other device that connects to the internet.  Use this tool to your advantage!

  • Make a list to 10 things you would like to learn more about this year.
    • This can be anything that sparks your interesting, the more radical the better!
  • For the next year work on learning more on each of those ten things.
    • Use all your resources to learn, use the internet, youtube, your library, a friend, the list goes on!

Do you still feel stuck on what to do? This could come a feeling of always being told what to do or think, and honestly, that is just a cop out.   So dig deep, no one can do this for you, only you can!

Starting with just writing, just write how you feel about learning something new.  Is there a fear, past triggers, or just a sense of loss.   After exploring that, open your heart and soul, welcome and explore new learning opportunities.  It does not have to be formal in any way, the more you attempt to learn new things the more you will reignite your natural curiosity.
